Every WUTA Toddler Orca T-Shirt includes an original photograph of a wild killer whale captured by Wake Up To Adventure during real encounters in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

For our littlest adventurers, the photograph is a small piece of the wild they can grow up with—a real animal connected to the orca they wear on their shirt. Whenever the whale can be identified, we’ll also include their name or identification number and a little of their story, giving families a chance to discover together who that whale is and where its life has taken it.

Long after they outgrow the shirt, the photograph can remain—a keepsake from the years when their curiosity about animals, oceans, and adventure was just beginning.

For a young killer whale, family is everything.

Orca calves are born into remarkably close social groups. From the beginning, they stay near their mothers while learning how to travel, communicate, find food, play, and safely navigate their ocean home. And mom isn’t the only one helping—siblings, aunts, grandmothers, and other family members can all play important roles as a young whale grows.

Knowledge is shared, relationships endure, and young orcas learn by watching the animals around them. Between all that learning comes plenty of play. They chase one another, roll at the surface, leap from the water, investigate their surroundings, and occasionally seem to have absolutely no interest in slowing down. Sound familiar?

That spirit inspired the WUTA Toddler Orca—made for little adventurers who are still discovering everything for the first time. A big world, a curious little explorer, and a family never very far away.

For every WUTA Toddler Orca T-Shirt purchased, $1 is donated directly to the Orca Behavior Institute (OBI), a San Juan Island–based nonprofit working to better understand and protect wild killer whales through research, education, and conservation advocacy.

OBI’s long-term work with Southern Resident and Bigg’s killer whales helps reveal how these remarkable animals live, communicate, raise their young, find food, and navigate a changing Pacific Northwest.

Our littlest adventurers may not understand conservation yet—but they’re growing up in the world we choose to leave them. We want that world to still have wild coastlines, thriving oceans, and killer whale families moving through the Salish Sea.
